JYJ, a leading K-pop group that recently returned to the stage after three years, was hit hard by a ban on its title track “Back Seat.”

Public broadcaster KBS banned “Back Seat” from airing due to what it claimed to be inappropriate lyrics, prompting JYJ’s management agency, C-Jes Entertainment, to consider requesting a review in deliberation.

“We passed deliberation for MBC and SBS. But we are contemplating on whether or not to request for a review of deliberation (with KBS),” the management agency said.

According to KBS K-pop deliberation results, “Back Seat” from JYJ’s second EP was banned due to sensational lyrics. Moreover, the broadcaster claims that the line “put you on my back seat” alludes to sexual activity.

An official from C-Jes Entertainment said that the agency is discussing changing the lyrics and submitting for review. But if the story of the song goes the other way, JYJ will go with the original song, he said.

[NEWS] JYJ, Ha:tfelt Ye Eun and 4Minute Hyuna’s New Songs Banned for Broadcast on KBS

KBS has banned JYJ, Wonder Girls Ye Eun and 4Minute Hyuna’s new songs for broadcast.

According to the result of KBS’s deliberation on popular music, JYJ’s Back Seat, Ye Eun’s Bond and Hyuna’s Blacklist and French Kiss have been disqualified for broadcast.

Back Seat has been banned as its lyrics ‘put you on back seat’ reminds one of sexual intercourse while Hyuna’s Blacklist and Ye Eun′s Bond have been disqualified since the lyrics include profanity.

C-JeS Entertainment, JYJ’s agency, is currently discussing whether or not it will change the lyrics. The agency rep said, “We’re discussing the issue on the lyrics but nothing has been decided yet. We will try to go in the direction to keep the original feel and direction of the song.”

JYJ’s Back Seat has already been qualified for broadcast on MBC and SBS.
